My 9th Question : What's the meaning of your nickname?

Hi, again,

Now we've just come back from a long~~ holiday. I hope you all really had a wonderful time.

It seems quite late to ask this question, but what is the meaning of your English nickname? Or how did you choose it? As for me, I like Wordsworth's poem, especially Lucy poem. I've used my nickname since I started working at a foreign company in Chungju.

Have a great week!

Hi Lucy,

I am James of S1. Thank you for visiting my blog. Your question is interesting to me.
Actually, I have several nicknames. But usually, I am called as Thereare(there are). It sounds a little strange. It come from my korean name, Jung Dae-yol. When we call someone, we add 'ah' or ya at the end of the name. So you can call me 'Dae-yol ah'(=there are).
In class, whenever my students see 'there are ~' phrases, they laugh at me and repeat 'there are'.
But I'm ok. I like them.

Hi Lucy,
I don't have any special reason to choose Kate as my nickname. Just because I like the letter K. But yours is very meaningful. Nice!

Hi, Lucy.

Actually, the name I had chosen in the first English class in University was Debbie. There had been an movie script around me and had chosen a character's name randomly. However, 2 years ago, I felt English nickname was also my name and it should have shown something about me. Even though Kimmie doesn't say anything about myself but, I made it sound like my Korean name with a foreign frien's help. Kimmie refers to Kim Min in Kim Min-yeong. After having changed it, I felt it was like my real name.

P.S. I love your name, Lucy. It makes me feel bright whenever I call your name.

Hello

I'm a trainee of class 1. My English name was Grace. I made my English myself. Because as a Christian, I wanted to get blessing from God. I think originally the word grace means respect, blessing, softness, goodness, kindness, or something like that.
But the very sad thing was I had to change my English name a little bit because there are two Graces in my class. So now my name became Gracie.

Hi, Lucy.
As for me, I'm short of imagination no understanding on Latin roots. Mine is just taken from my Korean name. An is from Ahn, and -dy are initials for Dong Yon. Your name is really romantic. It is the result of spontaneous overflowing of powerful feeling.ㅎㅎㅎ ===> ㅇ.^

Hi, Lucy, my cute lady ^^
I think you have such a sweet and sunny disposition and are very talented in many respects. It's a wonderful virtue in leading a life. This is because you can give pleasure and happiness to others even with your presence itself ^.=
My nickname is not unusual but kind of old-fashioned^^;;;. It used to be very popular but I heard that only quite a few people have this name nowadays. I like the sound when I prounce it. Another reason is that I liked the famous actress named "Michelle Piffer" and I have the same initial sound in my Korean first name "Mi"^^. Very simple... I will use this name until I find another gorgeous nickname which goes with me*^^*
